Variations is a Digital Music Repository software package offered by the Ohio State University Music and Dance Library. It is a tool to assist instructors in demonstrating musical concepts by annotating musical scores and audio files and sharing them with students. It allows students to study these compositions outside of the classroom at most web-enabled personal computers. This is all done while unobtrusively enforcing the rights of the works' copyright holders based on the students' course enrollment.

Variations is a java-based client and server system developed at Indiana University; OSU is part of a pilot program to develop this into an easily deployed system for other educational institutions.
